Vryburg High School  has three events annually during which the Blood Transfusion Service comes to our school. Learners who are 16 years old, weigh 50 kg and do not use medication can donate blood. The aim of Gymnasium's blood committee is to encourage learners to bring a new donor friend to the event.

The greatest value of blood donation lies in the fact that Vryburg High School has been given the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the community from an early age. Research shows that young donors regularly donate after leaving school. During the December holidays and winter months, the South African Blood Transfusion Service has a shortage of blood.

During the winter months there is a great shortage of blood because many donors have flu or cold and are not allowed to donate.
