Parent Association
Vryburg High School is in the happy position that we have an active Parent Association, something which does not function well in many urban communities.
The parent association of Vryburg High School consists of all the parents of our school. In order to facilitate the organization at grassroots level, the parents of the LRC (Learners Representative Council) take charge of co-ordinating and managing the activities of the PA.
The PA uses opportunities at the school to generate and raise funds. This includes, in particular, the sale of takeaway food at sporting events at Gert Lubbe Sportterrein, but often other projects are also addressed eg. raffles, catering for functions, etc.
The first R100 000 is the goal that the PA must achieve annually as it forms part of the school’s budgeted income. Special projects are also being launched. Examples of such projects that have been launched include the paving in the school square, the renovation of the school’s staffroom, the restoration of the school’s memorial hall, the water cooler in the school hall, the purchase of a new 16-seat bus, the equipment and crockery in the school’s kitchen and many more.
